MONTREAL (CU)_Nadia Chaudhri is a neuroscientist born and raised in Karachi, Pakistan. At the age of 17 she moved to the United States and completed her bachelor’s degree at the Franklin & Marshall College and her doctoral degree at the University of Pittsburgh. She eventually moved to Canada to join the Centre for Studies in Behavioural Neurobiology (CSBN) and the Department of Psychology at Concordia University.
During the COVID-19 pandemic she was diagnosed with advanced ovarian cancer and underwent chemotherapy treatment for several months. However, now as she receives palliative care at the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC), she refuses has refused to be confide to her bed to focus on herself and her family.
Considering her background, Nadia knows what it’s like to be an underrepresented students in the field of neuroscience and therefore over the last few weeks she set out to raise funds for such students at Concordia University, after pledging to walk the length of the ward every day for as long as she could.
