NAIROBI (CU)_The perfect office space and location is often key for any business owner who is looking for a new office. Having identified this requirement, AVIC International Real Estate set out in 2014, to construct the tallest tower in Kenya’s capital city of Nairobi.

Recently, the Global Trade Centre (GTC) Office Tower was  illuminated in an auspicious ceremony, as President Uhuru Kenyatta flipped the switch to light up the 42nd floor 184m skyscraper. It is located in Nairobi’s emerging central business district Westlands, next to two of the city’s arterial roads which connect the city’s highway network. The office spaces offered in the GTC are ideal for renowned global corporations, including Fortune Global 500 companies, which could enjoy world-class AAA standard office the building offers.

During his address, President Kenyatta applauded the efforts of the AVIC team, whose Ksh40 billion direct investment led to this milestone. “[…] as a flagship project in Kenya’s Vision 2030, I am proud to see it come to fruition,” he said.

Celebrating the Avic’s major achievement, the company’s Kenya Managing Director, Gong Yuxian underscored the significance of the initiative. “The lighting up of the GTC Office Tower was intended to convey our readiness to lease out office space in the newest addition to the skyline in Nairobi,” he said. “The GTC Tower was built pegged on the HOPSCA (hotel, office, parking, shopping mall, convention, and apartment) concept for architecture design. The first of its kind in East Africa with an aim to improve the quality of life and to enhance the residential value of the Westland area.”

HOPSCA projects are aimed at creating the ideal habitat model for tenants who are looking for interconnectivity to the surrounding areas of the location. “In a busy city such as Nairobi, tenants are increasingly looking for versatile premises that can provide their daily needs and activities at their doorstep, eliminating the need to travel to the office or get stuck in traffic to get basic needs such as groceries, and going to the gym,” Yuxian noted.
