Nine Bangladeshi textile companies to attend Texworld Paris

Dhaka, Bangladesh (CU)_ Nine Bangladeshi textile, apparel, and leather firms will showcase their products in Texworld Paris, a three-day trade expo which is slated to take place from July 4-6 in the French capital Paris. The Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) under the Ministry of Commerce will facilitate the participation of these Bangladeshi enterprises at the Paris trade show titled, ‘The Texworld/Apparel Sourcing/Leatherworld Paris’.

DD Sourcing Limited, Nelima Fashion Wear Limited, Lights Creation, Vertex Wear Limited, DK Textile Limited, Hossain Dyeing and Printing Mills Limited, Tosa Creation Limited, CBM International Limited, and Anannya Socks and Inners Industries Limited are the companies that will be taking part in the trade show at Paris.

The products like cotton, denim, draperies and tailoring, embroidered and lace, jacquard, knitted fabrics, linen and hemp, prints, shirting, silk, silky features, sportswear and functional textiles, trimmings and accessories, wool and woolen materials will be exhibited in the trade show by various manufacturers. Apparel Sourcing Paris is a significant venue for garment sourcing for the European market. The vast variety of items for men, women, children, and accessories is available at a variety of pricing points across the board.

While addressing the media, Abu Mukhles Alamgir Hossain, EPB Director (Fair and Display), noted that France is Bangladesh’s most important economic partner in the European Union. He explained about the long-term economic cooperation between the two countries. He added, “Both countries have developed strong economic cooperation and are enjoying warm business relationships. In fact, ready-made garment is the major Bangladeshi product for export earnings from France. Export of other products, such as leather and footwear, shrimps and frozen fish, ceramic and pharmaceutical articles, has also increased”.

According to him, Bangladesh intends to broaden the portfolios of French investors, assist French businesspeople, ensure market access, and attempt to diversify its export baskets. He reported that France is the third leading garment export market for Bangladesh in the European Union, and that Bangladesh shipped textiles worth $1.78 billion in 2020-2021.
