Popular Indian Americans are investing in the US T20 cricket league!

California, USA (CU)_ According to recent media reports, popular Indian American business executives including Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen are investing heavily in the establishment of the first professional Twenty20 league in the United States. Accordingly, a huge investment of $120 million has been collected already. The majority of MLC’s $120 million investment would be used to construct outstanding cricket-specific stadiums and training facilities in order to create a new generation of American superstar cricketers.

According to Sameer Mehta and Vijay Srinivasan, the co-founders of Major League Cricket, the initiative will create a base for cricket development in the country. They said, “The significant funding committed by an outstanding group of investors will allow Major League Cricket to build first-class facilities and accelerate the sport’s development across the country, bringing world-class professional cricket to the world’s largest sports market”.

The co-founders added, “This investor group comprises leading business executives and successful tech entrepreneurs who have led some of the world’s most prominent companies. They bring tremendous experience and expertise in support of MLC’s plans to launch a transformative Twenty20 league and establish America as one of the world’s leading homes for international cricket events”.

Major League Cricket or MLC is the first professional Twenty20 cricket league in the United States. According to Nadella, he was an avid cricket fan due to his Indian upbringing. He added, “Playing cricket taught me more about working in teams and leadership that has stayed with me throughout my career.”
