Jaipur, India (CU)_ With the growth of the solar energy industry in Rajasthan, institutions such as BITs and RTU are offering nanotechnology programs for their students. Nanotechnology is a major field that engineering students should keep an eye on if they are searching for courses that might provide them with potential job opportunities in the future.

According to Dr. Radhe Shyam, PHD in Nanotechnology from MNIT Jaipur, “Nanotechnology is just impacting particles on a nanoscale. For example, in a solar panel, there are five different layers and different researchers are researching about different layers with the primary intention to improve the efficiency of the panel”.

The nanotechnology sector is booming as a result of the need to reduce the volume of technology and increase its efficiency. Moreover, as the threat of climate change increases, so do global opportunities. As a result, scientists in the field of nanotechnology are actively seeking solutions to improve the efficiency of renewable energy.

In response to a question about how to have a career in nanotechnology, Shyam stated that one must first possess a solid foundation in the fundamentals of physics and chemistry. They must have a bachelor’s degree in physics or chemistry and choose nanotechnology for their master’s degree. Shyam added, “Nanotechnology can assist to overcome present efficiency barriers and significantly boost solar energy output and storage. At the nanoscale, a number of physical mechanisms have been created that potentially enhance the processing and transmission of solar radiation. Similarly, in lithium ion batteries, in smartphone chips, we are trying to achieve better performances, and that’s where the upcoming students can come in the picture, because this need and demand will only grow further”.
