NIGERIA AFRICA – There are always cases of human trafficking that is reported by all organizations around the world. But what happens when people illegally board the luggage area of a plane unknown to the crew and airport staff. This is criminal activity as they have no right to be in that space for reason that are clear.

The credibility of the airline could face backlash for negligence when there was no negligence on their part. So, the question that should be asked what decision is taken when people who smuggle themselves into a plane.

Well, the answer was provided by the crew of the United Nigeria Airline (UNA), a local carrier. In the recent past there was an incident where the crew of the plane found an illegal stowaway in their baggage handle and they arrested him at the Murtala Muhammed Airport (MMIA), Lagos.

This is seen as a massive breach in the airport security. Which then comes to the question is this the first time this has happened and if not, how many times has this happened without it being noticed. It is illegal on every possible count. The airport has called for a reexamination on its entire security system to find out how exactly this happened.

The Head of Corporate Communications at the Airport Achilleus-Chud Uchegbu made a statement that “The middle-aged man, who looked unkempt and is suspected to be unconscious, was arrested and taken in for interrogation by the Aviation Security of Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and Bi-Courtney.”

He stated that the not, aircraft the man was found on last operated Abuja-Lagos at 7:30p.m., a day before and was securely parked at the apron following post-flight inspection. The aircraft in question had to be screened and prepared for the service and flight in accordance with United Airlines very strict and rigid security and operating regulations and standards. This was not the first incident for the airport. There was previous incident about a month ago when a mangled body was found on the runway. Which is not only a police investigation into a possible murder but also a PR Nightmare for the airport.
