GLOBAL – When we talk about hackers the first thing that comes to your mind is Anonymous. But they aren’t the only people who are out there making people think about what they are putting out on the web.

But let’s be clear it’s not always hacking and then leaking personal information. Some of these hackers also do a lot of good like exposing corruption and evil. Which is appreciated by many although it’s not always voiced.

The latest hacker news we have come across is a hacker group called “The Generous Thief.” This group early on in the week claimed that the have taken the data of millions of former and present students in Israel as well as teachers. These have been complied in to excel sheets with addresses, ID numbers, Emails and full names.

The Hacker group stated that this information was for sale to the highest bidder and its millions up for sale globally. This means that just about anyone or any organization from anywhere can buy this information and use it however they please.

Israel is already having enough problems without this information being leaked. It is believed that they hacked into the Canter of Educational Technology (CET) and the National Digital Affairs Directorate’s Campus.il website, accessing educational files and personal information of millions of users

When questioned why by the media “The Generous Thief” stated that they are doing this as a protest against Israel’s dirty government. Which is the current government under Prime Minister Yair Lapid.

Of course, all intelligence personnel have been put on the case to retrieve all the information they can. The hackers claim that they are Israeli but from the information gathered and the language being unclear there are suspicions that it is a possibility that these hackers aren’t Israeli.
