Russia buying weapons from North Korea to fight Ukraine

According to a newly found U.S Intelligence finding, The Russian Ministry of Defense is in an agreement with North Korea to purchase millions of rockets and artillery shells.

“The Russian military continues to suffer from severe supply shortages in Ukraine, due in part to export controls and sanctions,” said a U.S official in discussion of the intelligence report.

The finding was first reported by The New York Times after U.S President Biden recently confirmed that the Russian Military used Iranian-manufactured drones on the battlefield in Ukraine. It was also reported by the White House that the above mentioned drones displayed technical difficulty.

Russia picked up Mohajer-6 and Shahed-series unmanned aerial vehicles over several days last month as part what the Biden administration says is likely part of a Russian plan to acquire hundreds of Iranian UAVs for use in Ukraine.

North Korea has initiated stronger relationships with Russia, in contrary to the weakening bond between Russia and Europe and the West regions. North Korea blamed the United States for the “crisis” in Ukraine, justifying the Russian attacks as “self-defence”. They also believe that the entire “conflict” is a hegemonic policy by the United States.

Whilst there is no exact quantification of weapons brought from North Korea, it is reported that both nations have built a strong relationship. Furthermore, North Korea has hinted interest in sending construction workers to help rebuild the East regions that are occupied by Russia.
