World leaders told to fly commercial for Queen’s funeral

LONDON ENGLAND – there will be much expected flight traffic in the Heathrow airports in the next few days as people from all over the world come to pay their last respects.

This was expected and it seems that Heathrow is now working overtime to try and accommodate all these airbuses that will be clogging up their runways.

There are foreign dignitaries, heads of state and even royalty that will be attending this funeral. So, the question is that we all know these people will not fly on commercial airlines to get to London, they will surely either fly private jets or commission a plane from an airline to fly them and their other invitees.

The question has been answered by The Foreign Office where they sent out a circular which said that the London Heathrow airport will not allow private jets, according to government documents seen by Politico.

Any private jets should fly into ‘less busy airports’ near London.

Heads of state cannot travel over London by helicopter ‘due to the number of flights operating at this time.’

US President Joe Biden New Zealand’s Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern and French President Emmanuel Macron are expected to attend.

Up to 750,000 people are expected to come to London for the state funeral on Monday 19 September, which will be a national bank holiday.

It is expected to lead to a surge in hotel bookings

“The eyes of the world are going to be on London for the next 10 days, there will be an influx of media, an influx of dignitaries, and an influx of people that just want to be there.” said Thomas Emanuel, senior director of STR.
