The World Heart Day is marked every year across the world to bring attention to the increasing prevalence of cardiovascular disorders and related health concerns. On average, over 17 million individuals annually die worldwide from heart-related ailments. The number of fatalities caused by heart conditions exceeds those caused by HIV, malaria, and cancer. According to the World Health Organization, cardiovascular illnesses account for more than 30 percent of worldwide mortality, and 85 percent of which are caused by heart attacks and strokes.

Expressing his views on the free camp initiative, Dr Vijay Aggarwal said: “Knowing our health status is critical, if we undergo periodic health check-ups, we will have an update on our health status.  Especially cardiac health status is very important, heart disease can lead to an emergency situation, which is generally a life and death condition.” He added: “If we know any impending health problems in advance, we can take preventive measures and remain healthy for a long time. So, it is essential to get regular health check-ups done, eat proper diet, do exercise and adopt a healthy lifestyle and all those ensure a healthy heart and long life”.
