The height of fashion in Victorian times

LONDON (Commonwealth Union) – When speaking of the fashion world it is not only humans that enjoy the fashion sense. To say that fashion is limited only to clothes would be wrong. There are things that one cannot wear on their bodies but is still fashion. There are many examples for this and we start with buildings.

Back in the 1800s it was the heigh of actual fashion to live in planter houses and they cost an arm and a leg according to the people who had them and even now the people who buy them say they aren’t cheap to get. Planter houses are usually built by specific architects and it takes years to get it just right.

We now come to the beautiful planter that was designed by none other than Mark Henry Blanchard. But the person who commission Mr. Blanchard to do it has been lost and no one has still found him but the good news is at lease we have Mr. Blanchard.

The beautiful planter that is sitting on a small lush green patch in St Mary square brings back amazing memories from yesteryear and people love to go see it and even drive past just for the memories of how things were.

How does this pertain to fashion one might as. Well, this absolute stunning piece of architecture was the height of fashion back in the day. The planter that consists of a beautiful ornamental terracotta centerpiece which was detailed by an entwining swan neck and a four-pedestal floral urn is one of its kind. The kind of craftmanship that took to make this kind of structure can no longer be found.

So, in some ways this is fashion as it had its time and it seems that the new generations are wanting the look to come back. As the younger generations look for trends to follow one can only hope the fashion statement that is having a planter for a home will soon be making a comeback.
