Education is not a business!

Abuja (Commonwealth Union) – Nigeria is the in the hot seat in the educational arena these days. Now one might think that this is a bad thing but it isn’t. Nigeria is making some positive changes in its education system and the higher up in the system are giving all the support that is needed.

Starting with Dr. Damilola Oshin. She is the owner of Mummy’s Place International Nursery and Primary school. Now when they say she takes the education of the young pupils seriously these people were not wrong. For her it’s all about the enrichment of young minds. Dr. Oshin takes the education of her students very seriously and will do all in her power to make sure her wards receive the best she has to offer.

She claims that education is a fundamental need for a child to base his or her future on. The young minds need shaping and they will become a good investment for the country’s future. She has openly said that the country should be running the education system as a non-profitable solution as opposed to it being seen as a business where they make money.

Dr. Oshin very publicly announced that she doesn’t run her education institute as a business as for her the education of the youth is much more important than a big bank account. The parents who were at this meeting were very happy to hear her say this. This only means more people will enroll their children in her institute.

She has won many awards for her privately run school. Although a private school she makes it affordable to many people, which is also a another plus point we see here. Children do not understand at that age what public school and private school is. Dr. Oshin has said that even if there is a difference it should not be the quality of the education and that all children no matter what the school system should have the best education.
