The cooperation between Jason Blum and James Wan would significantly expand the horror offerings of both firms, with Atomic Monster gaining from Blumhouse’s current infrastructure to spread its operations across cinema, television, and even video games. The fundamental objective of both firms is to significantly boost output. According to the media, Blumhouse plans to release at least eight horror films every year, which is roughly twofold the number of films the firm has been releasing annually.

At present, Jason Blum is the top horror film producer in the business, with his firm Blumhouse Productions grossing about $5 billion worldwide owing to blockbuster series such as Halloween, The Purge, and Paranormal Activity. On the other hand, James Wan is the brain behind horror blockbusters such as Saw and The Conjuring, and the two films have created tremendously profitable franchises. Since 2004, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’s filmmaker and Blumhouse have earned a combined $11.6 billion at the box office.

The revelation of a possible merger between Jason Blum and James Wan follows the announcement that former DC Films chief Walter Hamada will supervise Paramount Pictures’ future horror films. From 2023, Hamada will manage all of the studio’s genre offerings, which will include multiple mid-budget horror films released in cinemas and on Paramount+ every year.
