Indian-born Aruna Anand appointed CEO of Continental Automotive North America

Auburn Hills, MI (Commonwealth Union)_ Indian-origin Aruna Anand has been named the next President and Chief Executive Officer of Continental’s Automotive group sector in North America, beginning 1 December. She will also keep her existing position as head of the Architecture and Networking business unit for Continental Automotive’s North American region. In her new position, she will be in-charge of all worldwide architectural and networking business operations that serve North American clients.

Since joining the firm in 1997, Anand has served in several leadership positions within the various business sectors of the Continental Automotive group. Earlier, she served as the Head of Software for Gasoline Engine and Transmission Systems for the Electronic Controls business unit of the Powertrain division. She also managed the Wireless Product Group Engineering within the Connected Car Networking business division of Continental’s Vehicle Networking and Information business sector.

Before her appointment as the Director of Architecture and Networking, she was in charge of Continental Engineering Services, an autonomous business entity that provides full engineering services. Nikolai Setzer, Chief Executive Officer at Continental expressed delight over Aruna’s appointment. “Aruna brings an outstanding combination of experience and talent to the President and CEO Automotive North America position. She is a distinguished leader and is a technical specialist in many areas that are the focus of our future growth,” he said. “Aruna’s dedication to our customers and our employees will help guide the success of Continental in the important North American market.”

Regarding her educational background, Aruna graduated from Oakland University with a Master of Science in Computer Science and Engineering and earned her Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Anna University in Chennai, India. Expressing delight over her new appointment, Aruna Anand said: “It is an honor to be appointed as Automotive President and CEO for North America. I look forward to leading our talented team towards a bright future and providing our customers with leading technological solutions”.
