LAGOS (COMMONWEALTH UNION) – there was some trouble in the Lagos airport a few hours ago as a Nigerian Air Force maritime patrol craft had to have an emergency safety landing at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport.

Higher ups in the air force came to the conclusion that the Cessna Citation CJ3 had a technical difficulty. It was however reported that it was possible that the Cessna which was on a very routine flight according to the written roster lost its tires.

The loss of control over the tires in the craft was the reason that the Cessna had to make the emergency landing at the nearest stop. But this was not the end the landing was done on the underside of the craft ans the emergency landing was forced and it was done without the help of any kind of landing gear. The landing gear was the tires and because of the malfunction there was some damaged to the underside of the Cessna.

There were reports that the air craft landed on the runway that is 18 R and had 6 passengers on board. The good news is that none of the passengers were hurt in the emergency landing.

An official stated that it was the landing gear that was causing the issue which was that there was malfunction and the tires refused to come out. The official further praised the pilot claiming that by landing in the bush he minimized the damage by ten folds.

This also helped with the casualties being zero. The pilot had to make sure that the craft was not damaged beyond repair but also that the 6 people in the craft had too also be safe.

The Air force is now looking in the crash to make sure these difficulties don’t come about in the near future.
