AFRICA (COMMONWEALTH UNION) – it looks like the prayers of every generational African diaspora child has been answered by none other than the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA). They recently announced that the museum has been working with the Museum of the African Diaspora and will be doing a joint project where they will work together to create a curatorial portion as a part of a much larger partnership.

Now what is this partnership one might ask well the answer is simple both museums have come together to create somewhat of a scholarship for the arts where people will learn more of the African diaspora. This will encourage public engagement and people will then learn about how the African diaspora community has helped the countries they are ow naturalized in.

The education in this area has been somewhat bleak and no one seemed to have noticed it. Ones heritage is something one should be proud of and this partnership along with its public engagement and scholarships may be the reason that a lot of people will have a better understanding of the African diaspora.

The world needs something like so that not only the African diaspora but all other diasporas out there can come together and share their insights as to what its like to start over in a whole new country. This kind of first-hand resources is gold to people who want to bui8ld and expand in other countries and maybe even consider living in those countries.

We truly do hope that this project has all the wins it get as it is deserved. This kind of education was what the world was lacking. There will be so much one can learn from spaces like these and communities can thrive.
