Europe UK (Commonwealth Union) – Europe has been the center of illegal migration over the years with many policymakers across Europe having conflicting views on resolving the issue. Certain political parties have indicated that greater participation of all EU members is required with each member taking in a specific quota to share the burden. Other EU members have stated that the European border needs to be secured with greater sea patrols and tougher measures to deter illegal migrants. Much of the opposition has been centered around economic migrants posing as refugees trying to escape conflict areas.

Ending illegal migration along with strengthening the borders should be at the top of the agenda for European leaders, PM Rishi Sunak is set to bring up at the gathering of the European Political Community (EPC) at Chișinău, Moldova.

Sunak is to place engaging illegal migration as a significant issue on the international agenda at 2nd every meeting of the European Political Community in Moldova.

With the UK getting ready to host the EPC in 2024, Sunak will take further migration agreements with France, and Albania as well as the EU recently.

The halting of illegal migration along with strengthening the borders must be high on the agenda for European leaders, which is likely to be pointed out by the PM as he addresses a gathering of the European Political Community (EPC) held in Chișinău, Moldova.

Migrant crossings into the EU have risen by 64% in 2022 along with organized criminal gangs which are utilizing networks all over Europe to carry out cross-border crime and profit involving human misery.

“We cannot address these problems without Europe’s governments and institutions working closely together. In every meeting, every summit, every international gathering like this, the security of our borders must be top of the agenda,” said Sunak.

He further indicated that the UK will be at the center of this global effort to put an end to the boats and guard the national security of the UK.
