According to the website NYSCInfo, NOSM University, formerly known as the Northern Ontario School of Medicine, has entered the list of the “top 10 cheap medical schools” in Canada.

The website said the data from a list of “the 15 most reasonable medical schools in Canada, which contains some of the highest ranked schools in the world.”

NYSCInfo is a website and blog which provides information for Nigerian pupils looking for jobs and international scholarships, among other pursuits.

In the listing of the affordable medical school the website said international pupils might be drawn to the inexpensive cost of attending some schools of higher education in Canada.

The list above includes high ranking universities and very economical medical schools in Canada.

NOSM University with campuses in Sudbury and Thunder Bay, is listed as ninth, from the top 10 list and the oldest medical school in Canada is listed as the 10th.

The University of Western Ontario, McMaster University in Hamilton, the University of Toronto are other schools which are included in the list.

The website guided pupils that there are no free teachings for overseas pupils in Canada looking to get higher level of education, and stated that teaching is not free but it is inexpensive.

General career advice and information on international scholarships are provided by the NYSCInfo website.

At NOSM University, the official NOSM website has a page which shows the tuition fees for the MD program undergraduate medical education, which is around $24,000 per year for local pupils. Overseas pupils’ fees are not listed on NOSM’s website.

For graduate studies, Masters of Medial Studies (MMS), the webpage shows tuitions ranging from roughly $12,000 for Canadian pupils to roughly $35,000 for overseas pupils.

The NOSM University website also has information from the Office of Financial Aid that provides detailed information on how students can apply for student aid, how to deal with being in debt and seek financial wellness.

The financial Aid page also has detailed information on how pupils can reduce the impact of their education expenses by applying for various governments grants and stipends.
