Meet the Indian American lawyer appointed to a key position by Biden

USA (Commonwealth Union)_ According to the latest announcement from the White House, in a notable development, US President Joe Biden has appointed Shakuntla L Bhaya, an Indian American, to a key position, specifically as a member of the Council of the Administrative Conference of the United States. Ms Bhaya, co-owner of the Law Offices of Doroshow, Pasquale, Krawitz & Bhaya, a statewide Delaware law firm, is a specialist in representing individuals seriously injured due to unsafe decisions by businesses and individuals. Her appointment was part of several new appointments disclosed by President Biden.

With a significant footprint in Delaware politics, Ms Bhaya has been a member of Governor Carney’s Judicial Nominating Commission for the past seven years. Beyond her legal practice, she actively contributes to Delaware politics, presently serving as a member of the Delaware Democratic Party’s State Executive Committee. A former president of the Delaware Trial Lawyers Association, Ms Bhaya remains dedicated to safeguarding consumers’ 7th Amendment Right to a jury trial and access to courts. Additionally, she is involved in national legal organizations, being a member of the American Association for Justice and the American Civil Liberties Union. Notably, Ms Bhaya is the first South Asian Indian admitted to the Delaware Bar Association.
