Hotels (Commonwealth Union) _ IHG® Hotels & Resorts has solidified its expansion in India with a management agreement alongside A.R Resorts & Hotels Pvt Ltd to introduce voco Amritsar Airport, a luxurious 139-key hotel set to open its doors in December 2024. This development marks a significant stride for the voco brand, positioning itself as the fifth hotel in India and making its debut in the vibrant state of Punjab.

Boasting a premium experience, voco hotels blend the charm of individualized hospitality with the global appeal of a respected brand. The journey of voco in India has been noteworthy, with previous establishments in Jim Corbett, Gurugram, Mumbai, and Goa. The expansion aligns seamlessly with IHG’s ambitious regional growth strategy for the premium brand.

Amritsar, a thriving city in Punjab known for its rich cultural heritage and the iconic Golden Temple, holds considerable allure for both religious and leisure travelers. The city’s prominence is set to receive an additional touch of sophistication with the strategic location of voco Amritsar Airport near major cities and the airport. This makes it an ideal choice for business travelers seeking proximity to corporate hubs, SMEs, and MICE venues.

Scheduled to open in December 2024, voco Amritsar Airport is not merely a place to stay; it’s a holistic experience. With 805 square meters of meeting space spread across five venues, including a ballroom, the hotel caters to social gatherings and MICE events. The offerings extend beyond meeting spaces, with three distinct F&B outlets, an inviting outdoor pool, a rejuvenating spa, and a well-equipped gym, creating an environment for guests to unwind and indulge.

Sudeep Jain, Managing Director, South West Asia, IHG Hotels & Resorts, expressed excitement about expanding the premium offerings in India and partnering with A.R Resorts & Hotels Pvt Ltd for the brand’s Punjab debut. Acknowledging Amritsar’s significance as a prime tourist destination, Jain is confident that voco Amritsar Airport will meet the discerning needs of modern travelers, providing them with a comfortable and contemporary hospitality experience.

A.R Resorts & Hotels Pvt Ltd’s Managing Director, Gulsahil Singh, echoed the enthusiasm, highlighting the pride in collaborating with IHG Hotels & Resorts to introduce the voco brand in Punjab. Singh envisions voco Amritsar Airport as a preferred choice for a diverse range of travelers seeking upscale experiences.

With 45 hotels operating across five brands in India and a robust pipeline of 45 more within the next 3-5 years, IHG’s foothold in the region remains strong. voco Amritsar Airport’s arrival adds a touch of sophistication to the hospitality landscape, setting the stage for a new era of premium accommodations in Punjab.
