First double-decker train in Kerela

Kerala is gearing up for an important occasion as it gets ready to welcome its very first double-decker train into the state. The trial run of the Coimbatore-KSR Bengaluru Uday Express, which will later extend to Palakkad, is supposed to be scheduled soon, marking a significant milestone in Kerala’s railway history.

The debut of Double-Decker AC Chair Car Train

By the Indian Railways, the Uday Express series trial run heralds the debut of the first double-decker AC chair car. The train is designed to provide passengers with high comfort and modern amenities during their journey. The trial run will cover the Pollachi-Coimbatore stretch, because of the shortage of trains and wanting to address the lack of trains on the electrified and efficient Pollachi route. This initiative wants to improve connectivity and convenience for passengers traveling along this route.

Schedule of Trial Run The Udaya Express (No. 22665/66) departed from Coimbatore at 8 am on Wednesday, April 17. And arrived at Palakkad Town at 10:45 am and Palakkad Intersection at 11:05 am. The return voyage was initiated at 11:35 am, arriving at Coimbatore at 2:40 pm, hence finishing the trial run. The Salem and Palakkad divisions of the Southern Railway are jointly executing the trial run, showcasing collaborative efforts to improve railway services in the county. Since Kerala wants to experience the historic trial run of its first double-decker train, excitement is increasing among railway fans and people. This milestone reflects the ongoing efforts to improve and modernize railway infrastructure in the state, finally benefiting passengers with enhanced travel experiences. As the trial run unfolds, most of the people are watching on the Coimbatore-KSR Bengaluru Uday Express,  which marks the start of a new episode in Kerala’s railway history.
