Mumbai (Commonwealth Union)_ Deepika Padukone, amidst her pregnancy journey, graced the pre-release event of Kalki 2898 – AD in a striking black dress. She joined fellow stars Amitabh Bachchan, Prabhas, and Kamal Haasan on stage, hosted by Prabhas’ close friend Rana Daggubati. During the event, when Rana jokingly asked if she was still in character from the film, Deepika replied, “The movie went on for about three years. So I was like, why not? Just a few months more.” Rana teased her further about method acting, to which she playfully responded, “I mean, clearly.”

Amidst the banter, Rana prompted Deepika to share insights about the director, Nagi Ashwin. Her response was light-hearted yet enigmatic, “If Nagi opens his mouth and speaks, I’ll be able to tell you a little bit about Nagi.” In Kalki 2898 – AD, Deepika portrays a pregnant woman whose child is destined to confront evil forces, as revealed in the film’s trailer. At the event, Deepika Padukone, Prabhas, and Amitabh Bachchan were dressed in elegant black attire. Deepika dazzled in a halter-neck black dress, while Prabhas opted for a stylish black shirt, and Amitabh Bachchan sported a distinctive striped jacket. Kamal Haasan complemented the ensemble in a beige-colored jacket.

Big B, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan, and other members of the sci-fi mythological film’s cast attended a pre-release event in Mumbai that Rana Daggubati organized. Disha Patani didn’t show up for the function. Present were Vyjayanthi Movies producers Ashwini Dutt, Swapna Dutt, and Priyanka Dutt. Amitabh Bachchan posted a picture from the occasion on X (formerly known as Twitter) on Friday. Deepika Padukone is shown in the photo sitting on a chair. Behind her, we can also make out Prabhas, Kamal Haasan, Big B, Swapna Dutt, and Priyanka Dutt.
The trailer for Kalki 2898 – AD was recently unveiled, setting the stage for its theatrical release on June 27th, 2024. Directed by Nag Ashwin, known for his acclaimed work in the National Award winning biographical drama Mahanati (2018), the film marks Deepika Padukone’s first collaboration with Prabhas and a reunion with Amitabh Bachchan since their 2015 film Piku.
