solar assets for retail and commercial purposes. This week, the company announced plans to introduce a ground-breaking scheme that would enable Nigerians residing overseas to invest in solar energy solutions on behalf of local individuals and businesses.

Under the scheme, which is a first of its kind, members of the Nigerian diaspora community could purchase off-grid solar panels and storage systems that are installed in houses and businesses across the African nation. The company plays a critical role in addressing Nigeria’s $29 billion annual energy reliability crisis, with its tech-enabled solar models mark a major innovation as a sustainable solution for the matter. Arnergy has also formed a partnership with African based fintech company Flutterwave, which facilitates outright purchases, as well as lease-to-own options for its customers.

“For decades, the huge lack of consistent and affordable energy has held millions of Nigerians back from achieving the best possible economic outcomes. But today we’re empowering diaspora across the globe to drive us closer to a future where energy across the country is 100 percent renewable, reliable and accessible,” Arnergy founder and chief executive Femi Adeyemo noted.

He pointed out that tackling what has been one of Nigeria’s most critical challenges is now the need of the hour, not only for the benefit of Nigerians, but also for the health of our planet. “At Arnergy, we firmly believe the answer lies in solar energy and during a time where Nigerians at home are facing a difficult economic period, we’re proud to be the first solar company in Africa forging a new path for the diaspora to invest in more accessible solutions for friends and family,” he added.
