National Nanotechnology Policy and Strategy (DSNN) 2021-2030, which aims to revitalize the country’s nanotechnology industry. The minister released a statement saying, “To realize the country’s aspiration to become a player in the nano industry at the regional level requires comprehensive cooperation, especially with other agencies and ministries“.

Dr Adham stated that the strategy will assist the country by creating 33,391 employment opportunities and raising gross domestic product by RM151.5 billion over the next five years. He further described the plan. He said, “This roadmap will drive the country’s economy through local nanotechnology and products, thus achieving market value at the global and Asia Pacific level in an effort to make Malaysia a major exporter of high -tech products at the Asean level“.
According to Dr Adham, the strategy will also support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) through investments and facility upgrades for 52 nano techpreneur firms or startups. As per the reports from NanoVerify Sdn Bhd, SMEs would account for more than 80% of the country’s nanotechnology industry by 2020. He added, “Hence, focus is also given to intervention programmes such as financial assistance and facilities to improve technology and products among SMEs, as well as a nano product certification programme to increase sales and consumer confidence in order to penetrate overseas markets“.
