Air pollution is not Boosting lung health

Air pollution can affect our lung health. When we breathe in polluted air, particles and chemicals can damage and irritate the respiratory system. which can lead to various respiratory issues, such as asthma, pneumonia, bronchitis and even lung cancer. Fine particulate matter, ozone, nitrogen dioxide, and Sulphur dioxide are some of the common air pollutants which are known to be harmful to lung health.

While consuming healthy food we cannot completely protect our lungs against air pollution, it can contribute to better lung health and possibly reduce the risks connected with air pollution.

Foods which you can include in your diet to improve lung health and protection against air pollution.

Leafy green vegetables

Rich in antioxidants and vitamins, such as vitamin C and E, these vegetables can help to protect the lungs from oxidative damage which is caused by pollutants.

Berries

It contains high antioxidants, such as strawberries and blueberries, which helps to reduce oxidative stress and inflammation in the lungs.

Garlic

Well, known for its anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties, garlic can support lung health by reducing the risk of inflammation and infections.

Turmeric

With its active compound curcumin, turmeric possesses anti-inflammatory properties which can help to protect the lungs from pollutants.

Ginger

Ginger contains gingerol, a compound which has anti-inflammatory effects and will help to lessen airway inflammation, which is caused by pollution.
