Akshay Kumar becomes India’s ‘Highest Taxpayer’!

Mumbai, India (CU)_ According to reports, Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar, one of the highest paid actors in the industry, has once again been recognized by the Income Tax agency as the “highest taxpayer” in the country. An honorary certificate awarded to Akshay Kumar by the Income Tax Department is doing viral rounds on the internet and social media platforms.

A fan of Akshay tweeted, “According to haters, he is not a Global superstar, he don’t have HGOTY, not much BB, he is Canadian and many more things but still he is paying highest income tax than rest of the industry from last 5 years. My superstar.” Another fan commented, “Income Tax Department has felicitated Superstar @akshaykumar with a Samman Patra and termed him highest taxpayer from the Hindi film industry. Haters must see this before calling him Canadian.”

In the meantime, Akshay will appear alongside Bhumi Pednekar in the film ‘Raksha Bandhan’, which will be out on August 11. The film is helmed by Aanand L. Rai and written by Himanshu Sharma and Kanika Dhillon. It is produced by Color Yellow Productions, Zee Studios, Alka Hiranandani, and Cape Of Good Films. The filming was completed in October of last year in Delhi.

Akshay also appears in ‘Selfiee,’ which will hit the screens on February 24, 2023. Emraan Hashmi, Diana Penty, and Nushrat Bharuccha will also play lead roles in the next drama-comedy film. ‘Selfiee’ is the Hindi version of Prithviraj and Suraj Venjaramoodu’s Malayalam film ‘Driving License’. In the remake, Akshay and Emraan will play the lead roles. Additionally, filmmaker Raj Mehta will direct the film, and the late Aruna Bhatia, Hiroo Yash Johar, Supriya Menon, Karan Johar, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Apoorva Mehta, and Listin Stephen are the producers.

In the Hindi version of Suriya’s Tamil film ‘Soorarai Pottru,’ Akshay will star with Radhika Madan. In addition to Akshay and Radhika, Paresh Rawal will play the villain role as he did in the Tamil version. Director Sudha Kongara will again direct the movie. The filming started in April and a release date has not yet been confirmed.
