Mumbai (Commonwealth Union)_ The pre-wedding festivities of Anant Ambani, the youngest son of Reliance Industries Limited Chairman and Managing Director, Mukesh Ambani, and Radhika Merchant, the daughter of industrialist Viren Merchant, are the talk of the town now. The grand celebration is making headlines and dominating social media as a result of the lavish spending and the attendance of the top celebrities and leaders across the world. Further, the couple is anticipated to tie the knot later this year. The inaugural ceremony, known as “Lagan Lakhvanu,” took place in Jamnagar, Gujarat.

The festivities unfolded at the Ambani family’s farmhouse in Jamnagar. This ritual involves the creation of the primary wedding invitation, traditionally termed as kankotri, symbolizing the pursuit of blessings for the forthcoming union. For the occasion, Radhika Merchant picked the Anamika Khanna Ensemble. During the Lagan Lakhvanu ceremony, the bride-to-be, Radhika Merchant, looked radiant in the tailored Anamika Khanna lehenga. Her attire featured intricate floral motifs accentuated by assorted sequin embellishments. Complementing her ensemble, she adorned herself with a three-tiered diamond necklace set, a maangtikka, and bangles. Images of Ms. Merchant, captured by makeup and hair artist Loveleen Ramchandani, were shared on Instagram.

Radhika Merchant, born in 1994, is the daughter of Viren Merchant, CEO of Encore Healthcare, a renowned pharmaceutical company. She pursued her education at esteemed institutions such as the Cathedral and John Connon School and Ecole Mondiale World School in Mumbai. Ms. Merchant also graduated with an International Baccalaureate diploma from BD Somani International School before pursuing her higher education at New York University, where she graduated in 2017, specializing in politics and economics.
On the professional front, she commenced her career with an internship at the consulting firm Desai & Diwanji, following which she joined Isprava, a real estate company based in Mumbai, as a junior sales manager. At present, she is one of the directors at Encore Healthcare. Radhika Merchant and Anant Ambani exchanged engagement rings at the Shrinathji Temple in Nathdwara, Rajasthan, subsequent to their roka ceremony in December 2022. Their engagement celebrations commenced in January 2023 at Ambani’s residence, Antilia.
On the other hand, bridegroom-to-be Anant Ambani, who was born in 1995 and is currently managing the energy division of Reliance Industries Ltd., a crucial area of investment for the Ambani conglomerate, looked dashing in traditional attire. Additionally, he is also the co-owner of the family-owned Mumbai Indians, an Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise, along with his mother, Nita Ambani. For the past two years, Anant Ambani has also served as a director at Jio Platforms and took over directorial responsibilities at Reliance Retail Ventures Ltd (RRVL) in 2022.
