Mumbai (Commonwealth Union)_ Celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary, Bollywood icons Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan, known for their timeless love and togetherness, were showered with affection from their family, friends, and fans. Their daughter, Shweta Bachchan, took to Instagram to extend her heartfelt wishes, posting a message that humorously highlighted the secret to their enduring marriage.
According to her, mother’s secret is love, and father’s secret is ‘wife is always right’. She captioned it as, “Happy 50th parents! Now you’re “Golden”. Once on being asked what the secret to a long marriage is, my mother answered – love, and I think my father’s was – the wife is always right. That’s the long & short of it.” As the Bachchans mark this significant milestone, we reflect on their most cherished moments over the years.
On this momentous occasion, their son, Abhishek Bachchan, also shared a touching tribute. He shared a carousel of images, featuring a recent photo of the couple followed by a throwback picture where Amitabh Bachchan rests his head on Jaya Bachchan’s shoulder, while she smiles radiantly. The third image captures the couple leaning on each other, while the fourth takes us back to their wedding day in 1973.
Accompanying the photos, Abhishek wrote a heartfelt note, adding yet another golden jubilee to their list of achievements and expressing how this one is the most special. He penned, “Adding to the list of the many Golden Jubilees to their credit…But this is by far the most special one. Happy 50th wedding anniversary, Ma and Pa!” Amitabh responded with a simple declaration of love.
