The couple took to social media to share their happiness with identical posts, expressing, “With abundant happiness and hearts full of love, we are pleased to inform everyone that on 15th February, we welcomed our baby boy Akaay and Vamika’s little brother into this world. We seek your blessings and good wishes at this beautiful time in our lives. We request you to kindly respect our privacy at this time. Love and gratitude, Virat and Anushka.”

Derived from the Hindi word ‘kaya,’ meaning ‘body,’ Akaay represents someone who transcends mere physicality. Additionally, in Turkish, ‘Akaay’ signifies a ‘shining moon,’ adding layers to its meaning. The baby boy quickly gained popularity on social media, with Virat Kohli’s Instagram post amassing over five million likes within an hour.
Virat Kohli had been on leave recently, missing India’s Test series against England amid rumors of Anushka Sharma’s second pregnancy. Although the couple had not officially announced the pregnancy, cricketer AB de Villiers inadvertently revealed the news before retracting his statement. Additionally, industrialist Harsh Goenka also hinted at the impending arrival of the baby, speculating on the child’s potential future achievements.
