Apollo Hospitals Chennai launches new Epilepsy Care Centre

Chennai, India (CU)_ Apollo Speciality Hospitals in Vanagaram, Chennai, opened a new quaternary care, level four Epilepsy Care Centre to treat people with epilepsy. According to the hospital’s press statement, the sophisticated Epilepsy Care Centre was inaugurated by Minister SM Nasar, Minister for Milk and Dairy Development, and Tiruvallur Collector Dr Alby John Varghese.

The hospital has opened a care center to provide the services to identify the site of the lesion in the brain, classify the kind of seizure, speed up seizure control therapies, further analyze, and provide a high quality of care, including epilepsy operations.

Most of the people with seizures can be effectively treated by their concerned physician. However, about 30% of people with uncontrollable seizures who do not show any improvement with the traditional treatment will need to go to a care center for further treatment. The newly launched Epilepsy Centre will be staffed by a specialized team of expert neurologists, pediatric neurologists, epileptologists, neurosurgeons, neuropsychologists, neuro-technicians, rehabilitation specialists, and staff nurses who will share their knowledge and care for the patients.

While delivering her speech during the inauguration, Managing Director of Apollo Hospitals Group, Suneeta Reddy, expressed delight over the new launch. We have been continuously investing in talent, technology, and patient care.” The level four Epilepsy Care Centre will provide early treatment to patients with persistent seizures, which is capable of harming the brain irreparably, and give them hope.
