Apollo Hospitals dedicate itself to pediatrics!

India (Commonwealth Union)_ Apollo Hospitals Group has launched a dedicated pediatric division called “Apollo Children’s” at its major facilities, aiming to provide comprehensive care for children. As part of one of the largest private hospital chains in the country, Apollo Children’s will have a vast network of over 40 hospitals and more than 900 dedicated beds for pediatric care. With a team of over 400 specialized pediatricians covering more than 25 specialized pediatric care specialties, the division will cater to a wide range of medical needs for children. Further, Apollo Cradle, the existing branch focusing on mother and child care, will continue its specialized services alongside the newly established Apollo Children’s division.

Additionally, Apollo Children’s will also provide specialized interventions for complicated medical and surgical pediatric conditions, including congenital disorders, gastrointestinal and liver disorders, neurodevelopmental disorders, heart issues, kidney disease, cancer, and liver transplants. Dr Anupam Sibal, Group Medical Director at Apollo Hospitals, expressed that their vision was to provide comprehensive care throughout the different stages of a child’s life, from prenatal care to adolescence, with the collaboration of various specialists. This holistic approach aims to address the diverse needs of children across a broad spectrum of medical requirements.

Further, Chairman Prathap C Reddy emphasized India’s readiness to become a global healthcare destination, aligning with the government’s “Heal in India” initiative. Reddy expressed pride in the achievements of Apollo Hospitals and other medical institutions across the country, asserting that India has the potential to surpass many countries in providing comprehensive and specialized care across various sub-specialties. Further, the “Heal in India” initiative seeks to position India as a prominent hub for medical and wellness tourism. He said, “I am proud of many, many achievements, not just Apollo. A number of good specialties that have developed in about 300 hospitals across the country make us say, India today is ready to be ahead of many countries in providing total care, and specialized care, in sub-specialties, in all of these”.

Dr Anupam Sibal further highlighted the extensive network of Apollo Hospitals, which encompasses more than 40 hospitals and over 900 dedicated beds for pediatric care. Additionally, the division boasts a pool of over 400 specialized pediatricians handling over 25 pediatric care specialties. The concept behind Apollo Children’s is to provide seamless care, including in-person consultations, diagnostics, treatments, virtual consultations, and follow-ups. The focus extends beyond medical care, encompassing psychological and nutritional support, as well as physiotherapy, to address the holistic needs of children.
