Starting August 1, 2026, Air India will stop offering free Wi-Fi and will stay up-to-date with the latest channel for delivering their digital services.

The new pricing for Wi-Fi Air India has introduced new Wi-Fi pricing that provides customers with various options tailored to their online needs. Air India offers many options to customers according to their online needs. The minimum cost option in this regard is the Chat & Text Pack, which costs Rs. 399 for the full flight time equivalent to almost US$4.67. This option has been created for those travelers who mainly need to use messaging apps like WhatsApp and similar platforms only.
To meet the needs of its travelling customers, Air India has launched its Basic Browsing Plan so that the passengers can access emails and browse the internet, check their social networks and work on their productivity apps in the cloud. The carrier’s initiative successfully responds to the increasing number of people who combine travel for work purposes with leisure and expect the cabin to operate almost like a temporary office in the air.
After having spent more than a year promoting to passengers the onboard services regarding internet connectivity, paid Wi-Fi services were launched by Air India. On 1 January 2025, Air India became the first Indian airline to offer complimentary in-flight Wi-Fi on select domestic flights as an introductory offer.
