Apollo’s innovative medical equipment is a source of pride for the whole state of Telangana. With the help of the new TrueBeam machine, the hospital is now capable of providing advanced treatment to cancer patients.
This technology is combined in a 6D robotic couch and CG image guidance for the highest level of accuracy in treatment. According to the data, the country recorded approximately 13.25 lakh new cancer cases and 8.5 lakh cancer deaths in 2020. The report added that cancer cases are predicted to increase by 12% by 2025. Hence, we must be careful.
According to Shobana Kamineni, Executive Vice Chairperson of the group, the introduction of the TrueBeam LINAC with Velocity marked another landmark achievement in Apollo Hospitals’ race against cancer. She said, “Whatever resources with hospitals, like ours, with most proficient doctors with unparalleled knowledge and skills are the warriors of today, who will be able to fight and make sure, as Chairman Dr Prathap C Reddy always says, cancer is no more a death knell.”
Dr Vijay Anand Reddy, director of the centre, highlighted the benefits of the new technology. He said, “The TrueBeam platform with Velocity provides us with tools to manage and treat our patients optimally. Velocity makes it possible to manage the entire cancer treatment journey from diagnosis to completion of treatment.”
