India (Commonwealth Union)_ Apollo Hospitals has proudly announced the completion of an astounding 23,000 transplants through its Transplant Program. Since its establishment in 2012, the program has consistently accomplished more than 1,200 transplants annually, even in the midst of the formidable challenges presented by the peak of the COVID pandemic in 2020, during which 814 transplants were successfully carried out. Remarkably, the program touched a milestone in 2022, accomplishing a staggering 1,641 transplants.

Notably, Apollo’s Transplant Program has attained several significant milestones, making it the first in India to do so. These achievements include surpassing 18,500 kidney transplants, 4,300 liver transplants, and 500 pediatric liver transplants. Further, owing to India’s emergence as a prominent medical treatment destination for international patients, Apollo Hospitals has earned a commendable reputation in the fields of solid organ transplantation and healthcare technology. Impressively, out of the 23,000 transplants, 30 percent were performed for overseas patients. Further, the program has contributed to nearly 12 percent of all transplants performed in India and an impressive one percent of global transplant procedures.

Accordingly, Dr. Prathap C Reddy, the Founder and Chairman of Apollo Hospitals Group in New Delhi, expressed immense satisfaction in witnessing the unwavering trust and recognition for their dedicated efforts in providing healthcare to patients. He emphasized Apollo’s unwavering commitment to clinical excellence and the seamless integration of care and technology, which has been instrumental in advancing healthcare standards both within India and on a global scale.

Moreover, Apollo’s expertise in transplant procedures has also attracted patients from more than 50 countries. Accordingly, Dr. Preetha Reddy, the Executive Vice-Chairperson of Apollo Hospitals Enterprise, highlighted India’s emerging status as a healthcare leader and Apollo’s steadfast commitment to delivering exceptional care to individuals from all walks of life.
