The British Council is inviting all applications for its Study UK Alumni Awards 2024. The tenth edition of the British Council’s Study, UK Alumni Awards will be honoring the events of UK alumni worldwide.

The Study UK Alumni Awards will feature four categories to highlight extraordinary achievements and impact in several fields. These are social action, culture and creativity, science and sustainability, and business and innovation. Qualified applicants will have the chance to compete on both global and national stages of the Alumni Awards.

The Study UK Global Alumni Award recipients will get an opportunity to increase their international profiles, expand their professional networks and improve their careers with a professional networking visit to the UK.

October 22, 2023 will be the last date to submit applications for the Study UK Alumni Awards.

The British Council mentioned that, to honor their finalists, a selected number of countries, including India, will host national ceremonies.

In 2024, The winners and finalists of the global Alumni Awards will be announced.

For many years, according to the British Council statement, for Indian students, UK has been one of the most popular study destinations and the number of students from India to the UK has witnessed a significant jump.

However, as per the UK Home Office data, it added, a total of 1,42,848 sponsored study visas were granted to Indians in the year ending June 2023, which is a rise of about 54% compared to the previous year.

The award was received for more than 1,200 applications last year, from UK alumni residing in almost 100 countries. These applicants represented more than 120 higher education institutions which are located throughout the UK.

The National Awards in India, last year were presented to Saumya Singh, Winner of Business and Innovation Award (University of Manchester), Sugandha Yadav, Winner of Social Action Award (Durham University), Puja Changoiwala, Winner of Culture and Creativity Award (University of Westminster), and Abhinav Sinha, Winner of Science and Sustainability Award (University of Glasgow),
