Sydney, Australia (CU)_ HotDoc, a patient engagement technology provider based in Melbourne, has teamed with two major Australian hospitals for vaccination reservation projects. Austin Hospital in Melbourne began using HotDoc’s entire scheduling system and tools for COVID-19 vaccination eligibility screening and stock management. Each day, the hospital hopes to schedule about 1,000 COVID-19 immunization bookings.
HotDoc’s platform, which includes walk-ins, appointment calendars, and online consent forms, will also be used at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney to book and administer influenza vaccinations for staff. It will also allow the hospital to perform online patient verification check enhancements via Medicare Check and submit immunisation records via its Australian Immunisation Register-integrated platform. HotDoc announced that its platform has facilitated around 2.5 million COVID-19 immunization appointments till date.
Technology companies stepped forward to support vaccination campaigns throughout the world. Zocdoc and Microsoft are two major players in this field. Luma Health debuted its suite of technologies in January, including a scheduling tool, to facilitate quick vaccine delivery and operation. DrDoctor, a medtech business based in the United Kingdom, used its QuickBook solution to enable over 1 million NHS staff to get vaccinated more quickly. Bahrain is said to be the first country to use a smartphone app to schedule COVID-19 immunization appointments. Using the BeAware app, people have booked their free immunisations since January.
Ben Hurst, HotDoc CEO, said, “Working with hospitals to ensure their staff are vaccinated is a real thrill for HotDoc and aligns further with our mission to improve the healthcare experience for everyone in Australia. We look forward to long partnerships with these hospitals into the future”.
