Africa (Commonwealth Union) _ Bauchi State has clinched the prestigious title of the “2024 Best Emerging State in the Oil and Gas Sector” at the Nigerian Oil and Gas Forum and Award Dinner, a collaborative effort by Rana Continental Synergy Limited and the Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources. Governor Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir graciously accepted the award, extending his appreciation for the recognition and applauding the organizers for their discerning choice. The governor expressed gratitude for the foresight of selecting Bauchi State, asserting that the acknowledgment aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration’s commitment to tackle the country’s economic challenges.

Represented by the State Commissioner of Natural Resources, Hon. Muhammad Maiwada Bello, Governor Bala Mohammed lauded the event as a momentous occasion for Bauchi State. He attributed the recognition to concerted efforts in policy formulations, security reinforcement, and the facilitation of a conducive business environment, particularly following the discovery of the Kolmani oil field in Alkaleri Local Government Area.

Hon. Maiwada Bello emphasized the state’s commitment to policies fostering global investment opportunities in the energy sector. The governor, he stated, is diligently working to hasten the development of the energy sector, creating awareness among host communities and the populace to create an enabling environment for the thriving oil and gas industry in the state.

Furthermore, the State Government is actively pursuing the establishment of Oil and Gas Institutions, pledging to cover 50% of academic fees for interested candidates. This move aims to make tuition fees more affordable, encouraging widespread enrollment in these pioneering programs.

Calling on prospective investors, Hon. Maiwada Bello extended a warm invitation to engage in mutually beneficial partnerships within Bauchi State’s burgeoning Oil and Gas sector. The state’s deep appreciation was conveyed to the organizers of the Forum and Award Dinner for acknowledging Bauchi’s significant contributions to the nation’s oil and gas sector.

The Minister of State for the Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources, Mr. Ekperikpe Ekpo, echoed the sentiment, stating that Bauchi State’s recognition was well-deserved due to its keen interest and active engagement in the energy industry. The 2024 Nigeria Oil and Gas Forum Award Dinner brought together industry leaders, CEOs, investors, and government officials to discuss challenges and opportunities in the evolving landscape of the oil and gas sector and its implications for Nigeria’s economic development.

Bauchi State’s recognition serves as a testament to its commitment to attract investments and play a pivotal role in the nation’s energy sector.
