With corona taking over the world everything has been going from bad to worse. The virus has made the world stop with it being the deadliest virus to have been seen in a long time. People are dying in the thousands and infection rates are high up. Countries are not able to cope as hospital beds and space is running out.

India was hit bad with it and is still taking the beating. Hospital space is running out so they did the only thing they could which was convert teaching hospitals in to Covid wards. The issue is that most of the teaching hospitals are not well kept and this one was falling at its seams.  The teaching hospital in Bihar was no different.

Darbhanga Medical Collage and Hospital (DMCH) was turned in to COVID ward for its area when space was running out at the hospitals. The DMCH however was not in its best conditions and also didn’t have the proper equipment needed to stop the virus from spreading amongst its patients. There were many people infected at the hospital and in the last 24 hours 4 more deaths were reported in the DMCH.

There several children that were infected with Covid at 4 of them had died in the hospital as the disease could not be taken care of n time. The hospital authorities stated that “They were experiencing breathlessness & had symptoms like pneumonia. They were in serious condition. One of them had tested positive for COVID. Others tested negative.”

The DMCHC is the biggest hospital in North Bihar. It also the teaching hospital as well as medical college in Bihar. There have been allegations that the DMCH should not be used for Covid patients as the building is crumbling and that it may not be a safe for the patients to be there. Will the death of these children bring about much needed change to this hospital? Only time will tell.
