SOUTH AUSTRALIA (Commonwealth Union) – There are basic rights a child has and one of them is the right to an education. This means that it is every caregiver and parents’ responsibility to make sure that their child has the proper kind of schooling given to them at the appropriate time.

There is an education minister in parliament to make sure that his happens and that every child in that country is met with a proper education. The South of Australia education minister Blair Boyle is making sure that he does his ultimate best to make sure that the children in South Australia get their education.

He has stated that there are parents who are keeping their children away from school on purpose and that is not right. There are measures being taken to rectify this situation. The first thing Blair has done is that he has hired more truancy officers for all the schools. This was done to make sure that the attendance of the children will be checked before it is reported.

It was the attendance issue that brought to Blair’s attention that there are a number of children that don’t come into school on a regular basis. Granted sometimes it’s because of an illness or a prior commitment or even an emergency. However, when there was trend of children just nor turning up and the excuses being weak that was when Blair saw the problem.

He saw that parents were keeping children away from school on purpose and for absolute no apparent reason. Blair came down on them hard. He did his research and found four cases of parents keeping their kids away from school. These parents have been charged with heavy fines and if they continue to keep their children from school after paying the fines then there will be a court appearance.
