Breakthrough by TD Bank to support remote, rural and Indigenous communities

TORONTO (CU)_Over the past year, the COVID-19 pandemic accelerated the transition to digital banking, as lockdown restrictions and branch closures forced customers to access financial services online. One of the noteworthy benefits of this is that it has narrowed the gap between those who have access to brick-and-mortar branches and those don’t. Accordingly, Toronto-Dominion Bank has decided to capitalise on this benefit by offering services through Canada Post offices in underserved rural, remote and Indigenous communities which often have poor access to bank branches and lack internet services to connect to digital banking.
