Canadian Police to detain Hardeep Nijjar murder suspects

-

Diaspora (Commonwealth Union) _ According to a report from Canadian media outlets, three reliable sources have disclosed that the suspected assailants in the shooting death of Hardeep Nijjar in Surrey did not flee Canada. In the ongoing India-Canada diplomatic dispute surrounding Nijjar’s killing, authorities are closely monitoring the two men believed to be responsible for the fatal shooting in British Columbia. The Globe and Mail, a prominent Canadian newspaper with circulation in five cities across the western and central regions of the country, reported these developments, citing its sources.

The media report indicates that the suspected killers remained within Canada after the incident in Surrey, and they have been under surveillance by the police for several months. According to two of the sources, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) are expected to make arrests and press charges against the individuals in the upcoming weeks.

This development comes amid strained relations between India and Canada, with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau suggesting Indian involvement in Nijjar’s murder on Canadian soil earlier this year. Hardeep Nijjar was fatally shot outside a gurdwara in Surrey on June 18.

Sources suggest that once charges are formally filed against the two men, the police will disclose not only their roles in the crime but also the involvement of the Indian government. The Globe is refraining from revealing the names of the sources due to their lack of authorization to speak publicly on matters related to national security or police affairs.

The potential arrest of any suspected accomplices in the killing remains uncertain at this time. The RCMP has refrained from commenting or responding to inquiries from The Globe regarding the ongoing investigation. The situation raises questions about the intricate dynamics between the nations involved and the legal implications that may unfold in the near future.
