China Annoyed by Pompeo’s Hong Kong threat and Taiwan envoy plan.

There have been arrest made in Hong Kong of 50 People and Washington may sanction all anyone was involved in the arrest of these people states Secretary of state Mike Pompeo which drew disapproval from Beijing.

All this took place after the horrors that took place when Trump supporters defamed and vandalized Capitol Hill over President Trump’s loss in the US election held in November 2020.

There were editorials in the Chinese state news that made reference to leadership failure being the reason for the attack as well as the double standards of American politicians.

53 democracy activists were arrested by the Hong Kong Authorities on Wednesday and among these detainees was American lawyer John Clancey who was able to leave the police station with a few other people on Thursday.

“The United States will consider sanctions and other restrictions on any and all individuals and entities involved in executing this assault on the Hong Kong people,” Pompeo said outraged at the fact that these arrests of American citizens were made.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Hua Chunying comments that Pompeo is now treading on dangerous water and is interfering in the country’s internal affairs. She continues by stating that “China will take all necessary steps to resolutely safeguard its sovereignty and security interests,” Hua told reporters. “The United States must pay a heavy price for its mistakes.” The china mission to the united nations told Washington to stop the provocation and that if they continue to play with fire they will get burnt.

Kelly Craft was welcomed in Taiwan during her visit as she was the first sitting U.S ambassador at the UN to the Taiwanese island. Taiwan said that it shows the depth and strength of the US support to Taiwan.

U.S law makers were abhorred by the attack on congress and called it an embarrassment that would help the rivals and it didn’t help that Matt Pottinger the lead man in the team that is a part of Trumps china policy was amongst the officials that quit. “They’re high-fiving in Beijing,” Republican Senator Marco Rubio, a China hawk, told Tucker Carlson on the Fox News channel. “It kind of bolsters their claim that we’re falling apart and they’re the country of the future.”

Trump doesn’t necessarily have th best communications and records with china as of right now as he has drawn hard lines against china in regard to trade, espionage and even the corona virus and things go even worse when he amped up the accusation in his highly unsuccessful election campaign.
