Kiribati being an island in the Caribbean does not have snow for Santa to land his sleigh on so the children are told that the Santa uses pontoon where his elves come and deliver the gifts to kids while they are at church or whilst they are sleeping. The kids excitedly leave snacks that include local bread fruit and coconut milk for their Christmas visitor and his helpers.

The locals will visit church which is then followed by a huge day of eating and merriment. There will be choir recording played via radio and television. There is also the Christmas games which consists of families and communities getting together and dancing, canoe racing, and a myriad of other sports right up until New Year. Locals also go camping in Taiwan Park and visit nearby islands.

The islanders really do know how to celebrate and the entire island becomes a family. Everyone enjoys the happiness that Christmas will bring.
