CIIN releases new textbooks on insurance education

-

There are different ways education works the further one would want to study. To begin with most countries provide text books free of charge but these books aren’t really in the best kind of conditions as they have been used before and may not have been taken care of by the previous owner. This is because printing book on the account of a school is very expensive and if it were a public school there is a high chance that there isn’t enough in the budget to provide all the students with brand new text books every year.

But what is confirmed is that once you go off to university the text books must be purchased according to your major and minor studies. But Nigeria is taking a different approach and trying to cut down the production of these text books by starting the movement of students reusing books that are in good condition to be reused.

It was The Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN) was has started movement of the second edition of its insurance textbooks for both secondary school and college students. The move, according to the institute, is to promote insurance education and sensitization to the next generation. The second edition of the textbooks is an improvement on the first edition in terms of quality, design, and contents.

The Lagos State ministry of education had earlier approved the institute’s secondary school textbooks as recommended textbooks for insurance in all secondary schools across the state. The President/Chairman of CIIN, Muftau Oyegunle, at the unveiling in Lagos, said all tertiary institutions offering insurance in Nigeria, Cameroon, and The Gambia also received two sets of books to support and encourage the student members of the institute to take their professional examinations.
