Corruption Village

NIGERIA (Commonwealth Union) – It’s easy for one to believe that the world is changing for the better as time goes on, but how true this is may not really be a pleasant answer to receive. Sometimes we tend to live in the bubble that all’s well will end well but this isn’t really true is it. There are harsh realities that you have to face and sometimes it’s not the nicest experience but none the less it is something that has to be done.

Now with this in mind we stumble upon the term Corruption Village. One might think that the term refers to an actual village but that is not the case. This is a term commonly used by the media when they know there is corruption happening in a part of a country but they cannot prove it or don’t have enough to name the area that the corruption is happening in.

Now there were circling allegations about Naija, a village in Nigeria. There was supposed corruption happening in the government offices along with the gangs. Now there was never any hard proof of this so the media used the common dubbing of corruption village in the area of Naija where they assumed it was happening.

The oppressed people of this village can’t withstand the greedy politicians who have been using the state’s funding as well as the funding from the rich to turn a blind eye to what the media is assuming is white collar crime such as tax evasion and sorts. There may be other more serious crimes being committed but the gangsters have discovered what the rich have which is if you grease the right palms, it’s like the crime never happened.

This sound terrible but it is a sad reality. There are people fighting to end this kind of thing so that the people in these areas can benefit from the funding provided by the government or external sources. It’s a long road to recovery but the fight will make it a lot easier.
