New York, USA (CWBN)_  Apple Inc. decided to temporarily close down all 60 from California, Tennessee and Utah, alongside several other areas in the US, including Oregon, Omaha, Nebraska and Portland, owing to surging Covid-19 infection rates.

Adding to the number of closures 16 stores from the UK, and others from Mexico, Brazil, Germany and the Netherlands.

It is unclear whether the remainder of Apple’s stores would also close for the season. As per a 9to5 report from yesterday, about 401 stores out of 509 worldwide, remain open, however, in the majority of cases, the stores are open only for “Express Pickup” only.

In California, it reported that over 1,500 people lost their lives over a week, which is around 260 to 400 cases a day. It is the highest number of fatalities reported by the state thus far.

Meanwhile, the number of cases escalated well past 53,000 in a single day, reflecting an average of about 40,000 per day.

Moreover, the UK has also gone in Tier IV lockdowns, as previously reported, despite the governments hopes to ease off on restrictions over a four day period to enable households to socialize to some extent during the Christmas season. It is expected that the restrictions would affect up to 16 million people starting tonight.
