Delhi hospitals increases beds to tackle dengue outbreak

New Delhi, India (CU)_ In response to Delhi’s growing dengue cases, municipal corporations have allocated about 200 beds in several leading hospitals in the city to treat patients diagnosed with vector-borne illnesses. According to the latest data issued by the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) on Monday, 139 new dengue cases were reported last week, bringing the total count to 480. This figure is greater than the data of the previous two years, where the year 2020 recorded  316 cases and 2019 recorded 467 cases. A civic official said, “We are taking steps to ensure that treatment and testing is accessible to all suspected or infected patients”.
