Master’s degree in Life Sciences, or a Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Science, or a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery, or a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or a Bachelor’s degree in Technology in Biotechnology from a standard university are encouraged to apply. After earning the requisite educational credentials, applicants should possess a minimum of five year experience in research and development in industrial or academic organizations, or in a science and technology organization in order to be considered (except for departmental candidates).
The Department discussed the selection criteria which includes professional interviews, written tests and personal interaction. It said, “The selection process will be conducted in a single step and will include an interview/personal interaction with shortlisted candidates. If deemed required, the screening procedure should include a written examination administered by the Central Government or any other Central Government agency or organization with experience and knowledge in the subject”.
The department further explained about appointments and the training programs provided to the selected candidates. It said, “Selected applicants will serve a one-year probation period beginning on the date of appointment and may be asked to complete any training considered necessary by the Government of India”.
