USA (Commonwealth Union)_ Following the conclusion of the first Republican primary debate, Indian-American contender Vivek Ramaswamy has articulated his interest to enlist Elon Musk as an advisor if he secures victory in the 2024 presidential election. Ramaswamy articulated his intent to incorporate individuals possessing “a blank fresh impression” following a query posed by a voter during a town hall event in Iowa. This 38-year-old entrepreneur was asked about his presidential advisor if elected, and his smart reply has garnered huge attention.

Ramaswamy explained his growing bonds with Elon Musk, highlighting the recent engagement, and expressed anticipation of Musk’s potential advisory role. He added that this intention was triggered by Musk’s significant reduction of Twitter’s workforce by 75 percent. Ramaswamy elucidated his sentiment during a public address, signifying his respect for Musk’s operational prowess. He said, “I’ve enjoyed getting to know better, Elon Musk recently, I expect him to be an interesting adviser of mine because he laid off 75 percent of employees at Twitter”.

Ramaswamy has previously commended Musk’s adept management of X (formerly Twitter), relating this method of working to his hypothetical governance approach. During a media interview, Ramaswamy lauded Musk’s strategy of curtailing excess, aiming to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness, a principle he aims to apply to the administrative state. He said, “What he did at Twitter is a good example of what I want to do to the administrative state”.

Drawing an analogy, Ramaswamy drew parallels between Musk’s transformative actions within Twitter and his own ambitions for reshaping the administrative state. His vision entails streamlining inefficiencies and reinvigorating the purpose of bureaucratic machinery, thereby evoking the metaphor of marking a substantial “X” through these ineffectual elements. He added, “Take out the 75 percent of the dead weight cost, and improve the actual experience of what it’s supposed to do. He put an X through Twitter, I’ll put a big X through the administrative state. So, that’s where I’m at on common tactics with Elon.”

Musk, a prominent supporter of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ presidential aspirations, offered praise for Ramaswamy’s burgeoning political journey. As the Indian-American contender confronted his inaugural political debate in Wisconsin, vying for the Republican Party’s 2024 presidential nomination, Musk acknowledged the candidate’s appeal and potential, considering him an increasingly promising figure. Musk’s accolades were reinforced by Ramaswamy’s appearance on a talk show hosted by Tucker Carlson, wherein the young aspirant’s ideas resonated positively. With aspirations of infusing the White House with an “outsider” perspective in 2024, Ramaswamy is gaining momentum in the polls, closely trailing DeSantis and surpassing notable figures like Nikki Haley and former Vice President Mike Pence.

A recent survey underscored DeSantis’ prominence in the Republican race, securing second place with 12 percent support, just a marginal four points ahead of Ramaswamy. Having amassed personal wealth exceeding $950 million, Ramaswamy rapidly garnered over $450,000 in donations within the first hour after the Republican debate, averaging contributions of $38. Furthermore, according to reports, he emerged as the most extensively searched Republican candidate on Google, followed by Haley.
