Whilst the options when it comes to Lego toys is seemingly, endless the one thing that has been missed is that of a humble shearing shed. This did not go unnoticed, but it was not fixed until a 15-year-old from Tahara Victoria, by the name of Angus Dhole stepped up to change it.
Angus Dhole is none other than a son of sheep farmers Sam and Julie Dhole from western Victoria. Angus has been experimenting the Lego Shearing shed for a little while as he has borrowed bits and pieces from other kids and finally building a shearing shed out of the borrowed Lego.
Angus then sent his idea to the Lego Idea Scheme where he hopes it will be approved and they will run the shearing shed into a commercialized toy and integrate it into the Lego business.
Trial and error
There were many struggles in creating this prototype of a Lego shearing shed at home as Angus did not have a kit of tolls to work with. Angus’ parents introduced him to Lego when they thought he was old enough not to eat them.
Angus had a lot of bumps on the road to creating the perfect shearing shed for Lego as he had to borrow from other children certain components so he would get the best possible fit and likeness to the real thing. This process with Angus and the shearing shed began in January 2018.
Angus claimed that it took him about 2 years as it was experimental and finding parts and also seeing what looked good and what didn’t. When asked why he decided on a shearing shed he simply answered stating that it is his own back ground and there is a significant lack in farm themed kits available from Lego.
